What to do if you have missing or lost livestock or farm animals?
Generally livestock and farm animals that are found running at large and are picked up by a Bernalillo County Animal Care Services Officer are held at our office. If no owner is known or the owner does not reclaim the animal the New Mexico Livestock Board is contacted.
Livestock and farm animal owners should call the Bernalillo County Animal Care Services Office at 468-PETS (7387) to confirm if any livestock picked up Bernalillo County Animal Care Services match any animals they have lost. No other information will be provided. It will be up to the owner to provide: location or immediate area where the animal was lost, as well as the type, description, sex of animal, and any identifying marks. Unclaimed livestock will be turned over to the Livestock Board.
If you have questions about any of the livestock please contact;
