Art's Aces was developed by Commissioner De La Cruz as a way to encourage and reward students in District 2 who get straight A’s in school. Each year, the student “ACES” are acknowledged for their accomplishments with free swim passes, t-shirts, amusement park passes and a pizza party. The program continues to grow each year and the commissioner hopes that children will encourage their friends and family members to work hard and become members of Art’s Aces too.
Any District 2 student who earns straight "A's" on their final report card before the summer can be an Art's ACE. If that student is registered for a seven-week summer recreation program at any District 2 community center (Los Padillas, Mountain View, Westside), they will be a part of the end-of-summer celebration and recognition ceremony, and will be given Cliff's amusement park and nine-week community center swim passes. ACE students who aren't in the summer recreation program will still receive a nine-week community center swim pass.
To register for the Art's ACES program, visit the county Parks & Recreation Department, located at the Union Square Building (111 Union Square). Please bring the student's last report card for verification.
