Air Quality Control Board Calendars, Agendas, Minutes
The Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Joint Air Quality Control Board shall consist of seven (7) members as follows: Four (4) members shall be appointed by the Mayor of the City of Albuquerque; and three (3) members shall be appointed by the County Commission of Bernalillo County. County-appointed members shall be residents of Bernalillo County, and City-appointed members shall be residents of the City of Albuquerque. Members shall be appointed for three-year terms. No member appointed by the County Commission shall be eligible to serve more than two consecutive terms (Ordinance No. 84-17). Board members shall be representative of such groups as environmental health, engineering, legal, education, scientific, environmental, or industrial interests. The Director of Environmental Health is an ex-officio member of the Board, but does not have a vote. At least two months before a term expires, the Board shall submit to the appropriate body a list of three biographical sketch concerning qualifications of each candidate. From this list, as modified or enlarged by the appropriate body, appointments are to be made. If a vacancy occurs for reasons other than expiration of term, the Board shall comply with the above promptly. Appointments shall be made by the body having originally appointed the member and shall be for the remainder of the unexpired term.
