Commissioner Art De La Cruz is continuing his efforts and strong commitment to stress the importance of literacy in his district. So far, Commissioner De La Cruz has sponsored two book holidays where children were given the gift of their very own book, so that they could continue reading during the winter and spring breaks from school.
“There are many children in the community without access to books at home with parents lacking resources to purchase books. We believe in our children and we want them to keep reading,” says Commissioner De La Cruz.
The commissioner, with sponsorship support, is committed to providing more books for the kids. There are plans for additional book holiday fairs for the families in District 2.
