Since taking office in 2009, County Commissioner Art De La Cruz has advocated for cleaning up District 2. Each year, in conjunction with South Valley Pride Day, clean-up crews, comprised of county workers and community volunteers, have cleaned yards, roadsides and businesses to help beautify District 2.
“A clean neighborhood is a safer neighborhood,” says Commissioner De La Cruz. “When people take pride in the way their neighborhood looks, the whole group feels better about themselves and where they live.”
More community clean-ups will be added to the yearly schedule that focus on resident volunteers, school groups, civic organizations and neighborhood associations.
