The Bernalillo County Planning Department, in cooperation with the City of Albuquerque, is proposing to update the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Comprehensive Plan. This update will incorporate new demographic data and plans that have already been fully vetted by the public and formally adopted by the Board of County Commissioners.
The Comprehensive Plan has not been updated since 2003, since then, a number of plans have been adopted in Bernalillo County that establishes new Village Centers and Corridors.
Recognizing these new plans will serve as a guide for future development and provide a process for ensuring that development in Bernalillo County is comprehensively planned in order to ensure adequate and timely provision of infrastructure, public facilities, and employment to support the population; provide for appropriate patterns of land and infrastructure development; and achieve the goals, objectives and policies of these most recent planning efforts.
These requests will be presented to the County Planning Commission (CPC) at an upcoming public hearing.
