It’s our job to help Bernalillo County residents get prompt, accurate answers and information they need on a variety of topics, from general information on County programs and services, to information on land use, county ordinances, property and gross receipts taxes, and county policies and procedures. We know finding the right person to talk to can sometimes be difficult, so if we can help point you in the right direction, let us know.
Keeping the community up to date on County news and events is important to us. To that end, we hold Quarterly Community Meetings at Los Vecinos Community Center, as well as regularly attend neighborhood association meetings in District 5. If you would like the Commissioner, or another County official, to attend an upcoming meeting of your neighborhood association or organization, contact our office to make arrangements.
We’re also passionate about open government. Bernco View, the County’s transparency portal, debuted in August 2011. The View was the result of the Commission’s unanimous vote adopting the Openness and Transparency Resolution. Commissioner Johnson sponsored the resolution because of his belief that easy access to information and records generated by government institutions is essential to public accountability. You can see the Bernco View by clicking here.
We value your feedback. If you are aware of a problem with a County program or service, have a suggestion about how a County service or program might be improved, or had a good experience with the County, we want to know about it. It’s important that we hear from you when things are going wrong, as well as when things are going right.
