The event is sponsored by Commissioner Lonnie Talbert and coordinated by Bernalillo County’s Economic Development Department.

BernCo Bernie’s second book, The Adventures of BernCo Bernie – Another Day to Play made its debut at a book premiere event held at the historic Hiland Theater March 12. Children who attended the red carpet event had successfully completed BernCo Bernie’s reading challenge held in February.

The Bernalillo County Commission approved a $250,000 Local Economic Development Act grant to help El Pinto Foods expand its New Mexico food manufacturing facility.

BernCo Fire Station Has Quicker Access to Paseo del Norte Boulevard, Decreasing Response Travel Times

Commissioner Lonnie C. Talbert along with State Representative William Rehm and Fire Division Chief Brian Kadle today cut the ribbon on the new access road to Paseo del Norte that will provide a significant reduction in travel time for fire personnel who respond to fires and other emergencies. The new road and gate access allows firefighters to get to a fire or medical emergency 44 seconds faster for westbound calls and 21 seconds faster for eastbound calls. Previously, fire engines had to travel a little out of the way to get to Paseo del Norte.

We are looking for sports teams, families, neighborhood and civic organizations, military groups, business leaders, school, church groups, and anyone else interested in a beautiful community to adopt a location in your community and do a cleanup. This a great way for students to earn community service hours. This is a public right of way, school, open space, and park cleanup. Take pride in your community!
