Scope: The project consists of roadway improvements between Bridge Boulevard and the Isleta/Arenal/Goff intersection and storm drainage improvements between Bridge Boulevard and the Sanchez Farm Pond in accordance with the “Sanchez Farm Pond Design Analysis Report” prepared by Thompson Engineering Consultants, Inc.
Roadway improvements shall consist of the widening of Goff Road from 2 lanes to 3 lanes and the addition of curb and sidewalk on each side of the roadway to improve safety and capacity of the roadway corridor.
Schedule: The county is in charge of the roadway/storm drain design for Goff Road Improvements and will be placing the construction project out to bid.
The engineering contract for design was approved by the County Commission on November 13th, 2013, and Molzen-Corbin, Inc. is the design consultant on the project.
The design began in December, 2012, and the project is planned for construction in Summer, 2014.
The consultant just completed the Design Analysis Report for the project which included a 30% complete plan set. A public meeting is scheduled for August 26, 2013 for 5:30 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Substation at 2039 Isleta Blvd., SW. to discuss the improvements. After the public meeting, the consultant will proceed toward 65% design.
