Community Welcome to Learn of Major Improvements to Second Street Corridor


Bernalillo County will host a public meeting on Thursday, March 16 to discuss and share the proposed design concepts for the upcoming Second Street Corridor Improvement project.

WHEN: Thursday, March 16. Open house begins at 5:30 p.m., meeting begins at 6 p.m.

WHERE: Mountain View Community Center, 201 Prosperity Avenue SW

This project will design and construct a multi-use trail from the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge entrance to Mountain View Elementary School. It will also reconstruct Second Street from the refuge entrance to Desert Road, realign the Desert Road and Second Street intersection, and construct sidewalks along the west side of Second Street.

The cost for this project is approximately $12.5 million which includes the design, environmental clearance and construction.

The community is invited and encouraged to attend the meeting.
