New Passport Application Acceptance Program

The U.S. Department of State has designated the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office as an Authorized Passport Acceptance Agency. 

Our office is now accepting new passport applications by appointment Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Here is what you will need to complete the passport application process in our office:

  • Completed passport form (unsigned)
  • Passport photo; our office will take your photo for $15
  • A certified copy of your birth certificate
  • Your driver’s license or a state-issued identification card

*Application Fees must be paid by check or money order ONLY, and are made payable to the U.S. Department of State.
**Acceptance Fees can be paid by check, credit card, or cash, and are made payable to the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office.

Passport Renewals

You may mail in your renewal application yourself. You do not need to make an appointment at an acceptance facility.
