South Valley Park Renamed for Renowned Activist and Labor Leader Dolores Huerta

The park was renamed April 1 to honor Dolores Huerta’s lifelong activism for dignity and equality to laborers, immigrants, women and all others whose voices are silenced by injustice.

Low-income youths from three Bernalillo County South Valley community centers completed a summer equestrian program sponsored by Commission Chair Art De La Cruz at Orona’s Ranch. On Thursday, July 28, the kids provided a demonstration of what they learned.
