Unpermitted Septic Systems Workshop

BernCo Natural Resource Services Program will host a four-part series of workshops about septic systems. The first workshop on March 31, Unpermitted Septic Systems and Financial Aid for System Replacements, will cover the most frequently asked questions about unpermitted septic systems — who needs an evaluation, what is involved with the evaluation process, what causes septic systems to fail, how to apply for permits, if needed; and financial assistance.

BernCo Bernie’s second book, The Adventures of BernCo Bernie – Another Day to Play made its debut at a book premiere event held at the historic Hiland Theater March 12. Children who attended the red carpet event had successfully completed BernCo Bernie’s reading challenge held in February.

BernCo Meets with Government Officials from North Africa and the Near East to Discuss Transparency in Local Government

Commissioner Wayne Johnson and representatives from the BernCo Compliance Office and Economic Development met today with government officials from North Africa and the Near East to discuss transparency in local government. The group is part of a U.S. State Department project on Transparency in federal, state and local government.

  • Seniors 50 +who are members of the City of Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs can register for adapted aquatics classes taught at the UNM Therapeutic Pool (92 degree water). Participants will be led through a series of range of motion exercises that will increase joint mobility and develop muscular strength. Transportation from Vista Grande is provided and leaves the center at 12:20. Space is limited. Class cost is donation of $8. Register in person or over the phone at Palo Duro Sports and Fitness 880-2800 or Los Volcanes Fitness Center 839-3710 or North Domingo Baca Fitness Center at 764-6496.
