Third Annual BernCo Bernie’s Sheep Day and First Impression Youth Rodeo

Cowboys and cowgirls, it’s time to strap those boots on and get ready for the Third Annual BernCo Bernie’s Sheep Day and First Impression Youth Day Rodeo. It takes place on Saturday, Aug. 6 at Bernalillo County’s Dennison Park Rodeo Grounds in the South Valley, 7001 Coors Blvd. SW. The event will run from 9 a.m. ‘til the sheep come home.

  • Open Fitness Center hours at Westside Community Center. Come see us and get a great workout!

  • Registration begins Aug. 1 for this recreational program designed for four- and five-year old minds and bodies. Activities vary from music, painting, arts & crafts, to outdoor activities and field trips. The program will run Monday - Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 29 - Dec. 15, 2016 and Jan. 9 - May 4, 2017. Cost is $40 per four weeks, or a $255 flat rate. Registration fees are $15 for the first child; $10 for each additional child.   • Benches, stability balls and dumb bells are used for dynamic - metabolic strength training. This one-hour total body workout builds strong lean muscle and burns calories. A variety of strength training modalities are used along with a constant core challenge. All levels are welcome. Modifications are shown and encouraged.
