Do you live in the unincorporated areas of Bernalillo County and have a residence that is in need of repair?

You may qualify for the Bernalillo County Housing Department (BCHD) Home Rehabilitation Program.

Applicants will be placed on a waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis; or you may also pick up an application in person at the Bernalillo County Housing Department, located at 1900 Bridge Blvd. SW.  

No incomplete applications will be accepted.

In order to participate in this program, applicants must provide copies of the following documentation when they submit their applications 

  • Proof of permanent residency (i.e. electric or gas bill) 
  • Property tax bill (in unincorporated Bernalillo County) 
  • Proof of ownership (Deed) 
  • Verification of family Income (check stubs, award letter, etc.) 
  • Current bank statement

Upon completion of application process, you application will be sent to the NM Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) for approval. 

After approval you will be contacted by BCHD and placed on a waiting list.

  • Seniors 50 +who are members of the City of Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs can register for adapted aquatics classes taught at the UNM Therapeutic Pool (92 degree water). Participants will be led through a series of range of motion exercises that will increase joint mobility and develop muscular strength. Transportation from Vista Grande is provided and leaves the center at 12:20. Space is limited. Class cost is donation of $8. Register in person or over the phone at Palo Duro Sports and Fitness 880-2800 or Los Volcanes Fitness Center 839-3710 or North Domingo Baca Fitness Center at 764-6496.

  • Give the whole family the opportunity to learn Spanish at Vista Grande. The 10-week series of classses begins Feb. 6 and costs $120, including learning material. Classes for kids 13 and under are at 4:30 p.m. and classes for high school students and adults are at 5:30 p.m. Private tutoring is also available.   • Join us Tuesdays from noon to 2 p.m. for Senior Open Gym Basketball for those ages 50 and up. Membership is $12 - cash not accepted. Veterans and seniors over 55 are free.
