Tuesday event features fun trivia, entertainment and more

Bernalillo County’s official mascot, BernCo Bernie, is travelling to Santa Fe Tuesday to help present Bernalillo County Day at the New Mexico Legislature. Tuesday’s event in the State Capitol Rotunda will feature exhibits, trivia and more from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will highlight Bernalillo County’s strong agricultural heritage and ongoing efforts to create jobs and improve the quality of life for all county residents.

At noon, county officials will deliver remarks and present a light-hearted Bernalillo County “We’re More Than You Think” Top 10 List.

Examples include: No. 9: Did you know…Bernalillo County’s Public Art Program includes 296 pieces from the mountains to the valley? One of the most interesting pieces is La Corriente De Valle mural by Joe Stephenson and Working Classroom – the largest mural in the metro area at more than 2,000 square feet, telling the history of Bernalillo County’s South Valley.

Entertainment will be provided by Bernalillo County performers Ana Maria and iDance. Refreshments including cupcakes, chips and local salsa will also be provided.
