The Federal Emergency Management Agency has produced revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Bernalillo County that will change the status of some properties, placing them in a flood hazard area.

Commissioner Michael Brasher and members of the community will name the new East Mountain Fire and Sheriff’s Substation in memory of Deputy James McGrane. Deputy McGrane was shot and killed in the line of duty on March 22, 2006 while making a routine traffic stop in Tijeras, New Mexico.
