    The Human Resources Department will take a leadership role to provide service in support of the county by promoting the concept that our employees are our most valuable resource.


    • Recruit and retain a talented workforce essential to providing the county’s high-quality services.
    • Remain competitive in the labor market including both wages (direct) and benefits (indirect).
    • Support the county’s strategic goals and objectives by being competitive both internally and within comparable labor markets.
    • Provide training programs to improve efficiency, morale and overall ability to serve the public through prudent training and educational assistance investments.
    • Work to address the service demands of a diverse and growing county population.
    • Provide guidance and support to all activities concerning human resources; including discussion and policy development and initiation of approved policies, practices and procedures.
    • Ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting
    • Ensure that the county is complying with employment laws.


    • Suggest process improvement to reduce overtime within Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC)
    • Review Telestaff rosters for anomalies
    • Provide support for Public Safety departments
