Action Steps

  1. Assemble four Focus Groups by May 31, 2017 to review data and discuss ideas to help improve survey results in the following four areas: Senior Management Relationships, Learning & Development, Customer Focus and Compensation.
  2. Identify 3-4 Facilitators by July 30, 2017 to lead the IT sections in discusions on what they can do and what their immediate supervisor and/or manager can do to help improve the organizational health within their sections. 
  3. Continue Annual survey and conduct pulse surveys every three months.
  4. Communicate results for organizational health assessment quarterly.

Why is this measure important?

Organizations that perform Organizational Health initiatives realize an improvement in employee engagement and innovation and have higher retention rates. Data collected from the surveys will provide detailed report cards on our IT Department and our current engagement levels. This data will be utilized to improve engagement levels, help us to focus on what’s most important to staff and improve Manager/Supervisor/Worker relationships.

Where does the data come from?

Survey data is initiated and collected from a 3rd-party I.T. provider (InfoTech) to allow for the necessary confidentiality of the process. Bernalillo County only has access to the final aggregate data, not the user-specific responses.

How is the measure calculated?

This objective is measured by the percentage of progress of four Engagement Drivers from the initial survey. They are, Senior Management Relationships, Customer Focus, Learning & Development and Compensation. The results of these engagement drivers were used to establish the overall baseline of 27.75% as the starting point for improving this measure year-to-year. Pulse survey’s will be sent out every 3-months to check progress of initiatives and Annual Survey’s will be sent every January. The results of these surveys will be used to measure the progress of the IT Department initiatives.
