Why is this measure important?

This measurement is an internal MDC policy that requires a response within 10 days to ensure expedient resolution to grieved issues.  Grievances not answered timely could result in a McClendon complaint or lawsuit filing.  
Quick and accurate responses also ensure the safety and security of the facility. 
 

Where does the data come from?

MDC grievance sections manually tracks them on an Excel spreadsheet.  Grievances are received both manually on paper and electronically.  Grievances are logged and tracked from the onset to completion, including appeals.

How is the measure calculated?

Divide the number of grievances responded to within 10 days or less of submittal time by the total number of grievances for the month, times 100 for the monthly percentage of compliance.
