Delegation Attends National Inter-Site Conference

More than 850 people celebrated JDAI's 25th anniversary at the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI) Inter-Site Conference in Orlando, Florida.

A delegation of ten JDAI stakeholders from Bernalillo County attended the conference. Represented were the Juvenile Court Judges, Juvenile Probation, the Youth Services Center, the Juvenile Division of the Public Defenders and La Plazita Institute.

Representatives from the Bernalillo County JDAI National Model Site for juvenile justice reform presented in three separate workshops including a data workshop for girls in the juvenile justice system a workshop on Native American Youth in the Bernalillo County juvenile justice system.

Community and systems representatives co-presented in a workshop on reducing racial and ethnic disparities in the juvenile justice system. This workshop highlighted a successful system/community partnership in Bernalillo County.
