11/20/2009 Metropolitan Detention Center’s Children’s 21st Annual Christmas Party
| The Metropolitan Detention Center will be celebrating its 21st Annual Children’s Christmas Party, for children of incarcerated parent (s), at the Westside Community Center on December 19, 2009.
The Metropolitan Detention Center takes pride in continuing this tradition and honor in fulfilling Gordon Bernell’s vision of caring for the children in our community. Consequently, we are asking for your help in achieving our goal of placing a toy in every child’s hand this year.

11/19/2009 Free Thanksgiving Dinner For Seniors
Bernalillo County Community Services is honored to be able to continue the tradition of providing Thanksgiving dinner for Senior Citizens who are in need. The eighth annual “Lottie” Thanksgiving is scheduled for Thursday, November 26th from 11am-2pm.
This year, in anticipation of about 300 people attending this event, the Armijo Senior Meal Site will be hosting the Thanksgiving dinner at St. Anne’s Catholic Church on 1400 Arenal Road SW.
