County Clerk Maggie Toulouse Oliver was first appointed Clerk in January, 2007 and was subsequently elected to a new, 4-year term in November 2008 During her first term as County Clerk, she implemented a comprehensive poll worker training program, analyzed and
improved early voting and absentee processes and successfully administered the 2008 primary
and general elections. |
Ms. Oliver received a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish and an M.A. in Political Science from UNM. Maggie’s career as a political consultant and campaign organizer spanned 13 years prior to her appointment as Clerk. Prior to her appointment as Clerk, Ms. Oliver served as the New Mexico State Director and then Southwest Region Campaign Manager for the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), the Independent Political Voice for the Environment. At LCV, Maggie conducted a number of electoral, issue and advocacy campaigns geared towards educating and mobilizing New Mexico’s voters to support a variety of environmental issues. Under her direction, LCV campaigns registered thousands of New Mexico voters. Before holding her current position, she also served as a member of the New Mexico Sentencing Commission and as an alternate member to the BernalilloCounty Board of Voter Registration. Maggie was raised in Albuquerque and lives there currently with her husband, Allan and two sons. |
