Road Construction Update
On Monday, August 31st, construction will begin for the Lyon Boulevard Phase II Roadway Improvements Road Project. It will have a 75-day construction time period.
The road improvements will include:
· Reconstructing the southbound lanes of Lyon Boulevard for sight distance improvements between Irving Boulevard and Paradise Boulevard
· Adding a sidewalk on the west side of the roadway
· Adding an asphalt multi-use path will be constructed on the east side of the roadway
Two lanes of Lyon Boulevard will be open during construction at all times for both directions of traffic to pass through the project site area.
Franklin’s Earthmoving, Inc. is the Contractor, and Gannett-Fleming, Inc. is the design engineer.
The East Mountain Trails and Bikeways Master Plan, adopted on April 26, 2005 by the Bernalillo County Commission, ranks improvements along Frost Rd. as the highest trail and bikeway priorities for Bernalillo County in the East Mountains area. Area residents have long desired safe facilities along Frost Rd. for jogging, dog walking, bicycling and other related non-motorized activities.
