Bernalillo County Treasurer, Patrick J. Padilla is offering property owners the option of making prepayments of their 2010 and subsequent year property taxes in ten monthly payments beginning June 1, 2010. This option is for 2010 property taxes. First half 2009 property taxes must be paid on or before December 10, 2009 or they become delinquent, second half 2009 property taxes must be paid on or before May 10, 2010 or they become delinquent.   PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS OPTION DOES NOT APPLY TO 2009 PROPERTY TAXES. This option is not available if taxes are escrowed for the property owner and included in the property owner’s monthly mortgage payment.

 

•        2009 property taxes were $1500

•        First monthly prepayment and each of the next 8 payments are 10% of the $1500 or $150.00 each.

•        First payment is due 6/10/10 and the first of each successive month. The property owners has paid 9 x $150 = $1350
