When 400 of the world’s most successful CEOs, entrepreneurs, and business tycoons converge in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on September 29 to attend The Forbes Global CEO Conference 2009, Bernalillo County 3rd District Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins will be among them.
Commissioner Stebbins hopes to attract new industry to Bernalillo County and says the conference is a perfect opportunity to showcase what our community has to offer. The three day event is sponsored by the Malaysian government and although it usually costs attendees $9,000 each, Commissioner Stebbins’ fees have been waived.
“In these tough economic times, we have to be proactive in seeking out new employers, not just wait for them to come to us,” Commissioner Stebbins says. “The conferees will include CEOs of major corporations and employers from around the world. I can use this conference to build on relationships I have from my years in Asia and promote what Bernalillo County and New Mexico have to offer in the global business environment.”Commissioner Stebbins will not use any County or other public funds to pay for the trip.
