LIVESTOCK & FARM ANIMALS
Generally livestock and farm animals that are found running at large and are picked up by a Bernalillo County Animal Care Services Officer are held at our office. The Livestock Board is contacted.
LOST AND FOUND LIVESTOCK AND FARM ANIMALS:
Livestock and farm animal owners should call the Bernalillo County Animal Care Services Office at 314-0280 to confirm if the livestock and farm animals picked up match animals they have lost. No other information will be provided. It will be up to the owner to provide: location or immediate area where the animal was lost, as well as the type, description, sex of animal, and any identifying marks. Unclaimed livestock will be turned over to the Livestock Board.
LIVESTOCK & FARM ANIMALS FOR BID/ADOPTION:
The following animals have been held for 10 days and have not been reclaimed. In the event of a sealed bid - the bid must have your name, address, phone number, and bid amount. Please specify the animal you are placing the bid for on the outside of the envelope. The bid will remain open for five business days. The Bernalillo County Animal Care Services Director will open the bids at that time to determine the highest bidder. The highest bidder will be notified and arrangements made for payment and pick up of the animal.
The successful bidder will sign an adoption form agreeing to keep the animal in accordance with the Bernalillo County Animal Care Services Ordinance.
