Eligibility

United States citizens who are active members of the Uniformed Services, the Merchant Marines, commissioned corps of the Public Health Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; their eligible family members, and all U.S. citizens residing outside the United States are eligible to vote absentee.

How to request an Absentee Ballot

The Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) is used so qualified service members and overseas citizens can register to vote and request an absentee ballot simultaneously. The FPCA registers individuals to vote and requests absentee ballots for all elections held through the next regularly scheduled general election.

  • Early voting begins at the Clerk’s Annex ONLY on Tuesday, Oct. 11 and runs through Saturday, Nov, 5, 2016. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Clerk’s Annex is located at 1500 Lomas Blvd. NW. Early voting begins at all of our other 18 locations on Saturday, Oct. 22 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Early Voting Convenience Center locations coming soon.   • Oct. 11, 2016 is the first day absentee ballots will be mailed for the 2016 General Election. Ballots will continue to be mailed to registered voters who have successfully completed an absentee application through Nov. 4.
