The initial proposal includes 65 VCC locations strategically placed throughout the City and County that are easily accessible. The 65 VCC locations will take the place of 172 precinct locations on Election Day, resulting in a significant savings in manpower and supplies for a potential savings of up to $1.5 million dollars.
“My staff and I have prepared a detailed proposal and we are looking forward to the public’s input, which is a critical and important part of the process as we move forward. We want to make certain that we have identified all aspects of VCCs to make this method a successful voting mechanism for residents,” says Clerk Toulouse Oliver.
“I want to give my constituents an up-close opportunity to understand the mechanics of the proposal and have the Clerk available to answer any questions or concerns before it is taken up for a final vote before the Board of County Commissioners,” says Commissioner Johnson.
