- This event will showcase the facilities and many improvements to the Bachechi (Bah-KECK-kee) Open Space (27 acres) and the adjacent Alameda Open Space (8 acres), southwest corner of Rio Grande and Alameda NW.
- Bernalillo County’s Open Space program will be developing and implementing educational and resource-based recreation programming for the Bachechi property.
- The project has improved the Alameda Open Space trailhead and provided a seamless integration of the County and City properties.
- This open space is named after the Bachechi family, a part of Albuquerque’s interesting history of Italian immigration. Family patriarch Carlo Bachechi built the Kimo Theatre in downtown Albuquerque back in the mid-1920s.
