Bernalillo County Pools Resources to Offer Comprehensive Vendor and Community Workshop
Bernalillo County--Bernalillo County will offer a comprehensive Vendor and Community Workshop on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at One Civic Plaza NW in the Vincent E. Griego Chambers. It is free and open to the public and is possibly the largest workshop of its kind in the county's history. This Thursday’s workshop will offer detailed information on how companies can "do business" with the county.
"We want to do everything we can to help our business community and those who are providing social services and taking good care of our neighborhoods," says Bernalillo County Purchasing Department Director Lisa Sedillo-White.
The county has hosted smaller vendor workshops in the past. Bernalillo County spends about $300 million a year procuring goods and services from vendors for its 32 departments. These include such necessities as janitorial services, office furniture, and computer equipment. But, this year, the county will expand the workshop to include information on how businesses can grow and become more prosperous and how social service groups and neighborhood associations can apply for grants with the county's help.
"This workshop will give you lots of good information and we hope that as many people as possible will attend," says Sedillo-White.
