Bernalillo County – Bernalillo County seeks to expand the county’s public art collection, and local artists are encouraged to offer their works for consideration.
The Bernalillo County Public Art Program intends to purchase between 10 and 20 artworks later this year from local artists. The county has set aside $19,000 in public arts funds to complete the purchases.
“Bernalillo County has an excellent public art collection, and we are pleased to offer this opportunity to local artists,” says Commission Vice Chair Michael C. Wiener.
Last Friday, an estimated 300 people came to see the county’s public art collection at a community open house at the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Government Center.
A wide variety of public art is showcased throughout the county’s gallery and offices.
The deadline to apply for the public art program is March 16 at 4 p.m. The current opportunity is intended for emerging and established artists.
