The Tavern Taxi program is once again offering free rides home to residents from their favorite restaurant or bar for the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
“Tavern Taxi continues to be a great alternative to drinking and driving. Residents are choosing to get home safely without putting themselves or others at risk,” says Department of Substance Abuse Director, Katrina Hotrum.
Tavern Taxi is available at the following times:
Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17 from 10:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. and
Sunday, March 18 from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Call 505-999-1400 or have a server or bartender call for the taxi when the patron is ready to go home.
Since becoming part of the Tavern Taxi program in 2011, Bernalillo County has safely transported nearly 4,500 passengers from their destinations.
This program is funded through a DWI prevention grant, administered by the New Mexico Department of Finance Administration, using liquor excise taxes.
