Bernalillo County’s four pools and a spray park open this weekend, offering affordable summer swimming opportunities around the county.
Each pool opens at noon Saturday and offers affordable admission. Veterans have free admission, as well as seniors 50-years-old or older.
“Bernalillo County’s aquatics program offers a high-quality swimming experience for Bernalillo County families,” Parks and Recreation Director Ed Chismar says. “We encourage citizens to check out our great pools, get some exercise and have fun this summer.”
The Parks and Recreation Department has hired 65 seasonal employees to manage the program, from lifeguards to pool managers and cashiers.
Each pool is open seven days a week from noon to 5 p.m. for recreational swimming. Swim lessons, pool rentals and other activities are offered in the mornings and evenings. Contact each pool for more information.
The Alameda Spray Park is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from noon to 6 p.m. on weekends.
