Bernalillo County’s economic development team is sponsoring another free small business summit this Friday, featuring business planning, education and information about accessing the Bernalillo County Revolving Loan Fund.
The Increment of 1 Initiative workshop is scheduled for the Raymond G. Sanchez Community Center, 9800 4th Street N.W., in Albuquerque, from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Small business owners and entrepreneurs are encouraged to sign up for the free classes and learn more about accessing capital and other sources of support from business development experts on hand.
“This is a great opportunity for small business owners and entrepreneurs to meet with business service professionals and access small business resources,” says Mayling Armijo, director of the county’s Economic Development and Cultural Services Department.
The Bernalillo County Revolving Loan Fund has helped 16 businesses get a start or expand since its creation in August 2010. The fund began with a $1 million investment, including $500,000 from the county and $500,000 from the private New Mexico Community Development Loan Fund. Currently, the balance is $507,730.
Friday’s workshop features free advice and workshops on payroll, tax issues, legal matters, social media, marketing and accessing capital, for example.
Participants must register by calling Jesse Lopez at 468-7818 or via email at email@example.com.
