By 2 a.m. this morning,Public Works road crews were inspecting the unincorporated county roads for snow and ice.
Deeper snow, as expected, is in the East Mountain area. Since 4 a.m., the plow trucks and graders have been clearing the roads for commuter travel.
Throughout the day, the county road crews and trucks will work all of the major roads in the unincorporated areas, outside of the city limits. County crews will continue to salt and sand, in preparation of tonight’s temperatures that are expected to drop below freezing.
Residents should call the Bernalillo County Public Works main number at 848-1503 to report snowy road conditions outside of the city limits. Calls for service are logged and will be transmitted throughout the day and night to road crew supervisors for their awareness and action.
