The fire meeting will be held from 9 - 10:30 a.m., and a workshop will follow from 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Both meetings will be at the McGrande Public Safety Complex, 48 Public School Road in Tijeras.
Topics will include: weather patterns and fire behavior expected this year, preparation by fire agencies, preparations in case of a fire, developing evacuation plans for residents and their animals and more.
There will be a question and answer period after the presentations from all the panelists.
District 5 Commissioner Wayne Johnson, representatives from the Bernalillo County Fire Department and Fire Marshal’s Office, the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Animal Care Services, Emergency Communications and other federal, state and local agencies will participate.
