County Assessor Tanya R. Giddings and her staff mailed out Notices of Value on May 1. The period to protest one’s Notice of Value will run from May 1, 2013 through May 30, 2013.
The Assessor’s Office determines what a property’s valuation is. The taxes themselves are collected and managed by the county Treasurer’s Office.
Assessor and treasurer staff will visit the following six community centers on May 14, May 16, May 21, and May 23 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to address property owners’ concerns and file any protests.
No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome.

The Assessor’s Office is also extending office hours at its downtown location at 501 Tijeras Ave. N.W., from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 18, and until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29.
