Bernalillo County is aware that one of its employees has made disparaging remarks against a contractor. Business development specialist Jesse Lopez is claiming that the Garrity Group did not meet performance expectations. “Jesse Lopez does not speak for the county. The Garrity Group met the goals and objectives of the contract and we are satisfied with the work performed,” says Interim County Manager Tom Zdunek (Zuh dun’ ik).
In October 2010, the county awarded the Garrity Group two contracts to study the feasibility of establishing a technology district and an agricultural corridor within Bernalillo County. The county’s economic development department initiated the studies to assess how technology and agriculture could be leveraged to help stimulate the economy.
