The Bernalillo County Public Works Division is hosting and encouraging proper e-waste recycling. During the month of November, there are several recycling sites where residents can properly dispose of e-waste--for FREE.
E-waste is defined as the outdated computers, cell phones, printers, microwaves and thousands of other electronic devices commonly used today. Sending an old computer to the landfill is undesirable because some of its components can be re-used and some parts are made with toxic chemicals such as mercury and must be disposed of in special ways. The global technological revolution is fueling a rapidly increasing e-waste disposal problem.
Here is where you can dispose of your e-waste the safe way:
No televisions will be accepted.
E-waste Recycling throughout the month of November:
Nov. 19 | 8 a.m. to noon | Raymond G. Sanchez Community Center, 9800 4th Street NW
Nov. 19 | 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. | Lt. William Sibrava Sub-Station, 10401 Holly Ave NE (northeast corner of Eubank and Paseo Del Norte)
Everyday | 8 a.m. to noon | East Mountain Transfer Station (kick-off for taking E-waste all the time)
