Bernalillo County Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins Invites Nonprofits to Apply for Grants
Bernalillo County -- County Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins invites nonprofits working in Bernalillo County to apply for limited grant funding for social service programs and community events.
Applications for limited grants of up to $10,000 will be accepted until March 29, 2012. The grants will support social services and arts, cultural or community events that serve Bernalillo County residents. Past awards have gone to groups that serve the homeless, victims of domestic violence, low-income families, senior citizens and after school programs, for example.
“I am proud to support this grant funding, which helps local nonprofits provide important social services to those in need,” Hart Stebbins said. “I encourage our nonprofit community to contact our Purchasing Department to learn more about this program.”
The county has allocated $200,000 for this program overall. Nonprofits must meet certain eligibility requirements in order to receive an award.
Applicants need to register with the county Purchasing Department to access the application for this program.
