French Riviera Bakery is the May Bernalillo County Featured Small Business. This “Phoenix Rising” business is being honored as part of the Bernalillo County “Small Business Saturdays” Initiative.
Commissioner Lujan Grisham is urging residents to visit and support French Riviera Bakery, 4208 4th St. N.W., as part of the county’s “Small Business Saturdays” initiative.
French Riviera Bakery suffered a devastating fire in November that forced two neighboring businesses to close, diminishing the number of walk-in customers. Today, this highly regarded authentic French bakery is once again open for business providing bread and baguettes to some of the finest restaurants in Albuquerque.
“French Riviera Bakery is exactly the type of small business we should support as often as possible,” Commissioner Lujan Grisham said. “When we shop locally, more of our money stays close to home and our homegrown businesses thrive. This improves our local economy and the quality of life in our community. We have a dynamic small-business community, and with some extra promotion, we can showcase the best and most innovative companies.”
The Bernalillo County “Small Business Saturdays” initiative highlights selected small businesses every month at commission meetings, promotes them on the county’s web site and places a sign in front of each business designating it as a featured participate in the “Small Business Saturdays” program. Any Bernalillo County small business is eligible to participate.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy,” Commissioner Lujan Grisham says. “There are nearly 20,000 businesses in Bernalillo County that are critical to our economic future and I encourage people to support them.”
