Bernalillo County has completely opened the bosque for public use. Open burning restrictions have also be lifted at this time for the unincorporated areas of Bernalillo County outside the city limits of Albuquerque.
“With the recent monsoon rains, conditions for fire are not extreme as they were when these restrictions were put in place,” says Bernalillo County Fire Marshal Chris Gober. “If weather conditions change, restrictions could be reinstated if needed.”
The open burning restrictions, originally put in place on June 12, included the following: agricultural burning, bonfires, burning of explosives, campfires, ceremonial fires, cooking fires, hot torch burning, ignition of rocket motors, open burning, open flames, slash piles and burning weeds.
