Having a strategic plan that measures the performance of county operations allows the organization to ensure efficient and effective use of taxpayer dollars to deliver services.
Zdunek adds, “Each of us, every day, makes a difference in how effectively we are delivering the many services we provide to our residents. A strategic plan is about using goals, objectives and data to help us be the best we can be.”
In a separate but related effort, the county is providing the community with information about performance measures. The county has posted first and second quarter performance data (second half of 2012) on the “BernCo View” portion of its website.
The “performance book” contains a general overview of the services provided by county administrative departments and their first quarter performance measure outcomes. The book will be updated each quarter so the public can keep informed about the county’s performance.
