This show is the 26th in a series of exhibits showcasing the talent and creativity of District 3 artists.
Christian Gallegos is a contemporary abstract artist who was raised in Spanish Harlem in New York City, but now calls Albuquerque home. In his early twenties, Christian evolved from a graffiti artist into an oil painter, painting mostly abstract pieces and experimenting with surrealism.
Christian’s early graffiti work is apparent in his current paintings through his use of bold lines, shapes, colors, patterns and graphics. His experimentation with styles, themes and techniques; an improvisational, melody-like approach to painting; and a unique rooftop perspective allows Christian to “forget the subject, make intuitive connections and give expression to thoughts and feelings about himself and the world around him.”
Please join Christian at the opening reception Friday, August 2, 5 -6:30 p.m., on the10th floor of One CivicPlaza, Suite 10111. When you arrive, look for the directional signs near entrances from thestreet level and the parking structure and throughout the building.
