The Public Works Division has developed a guidance document that compares Bernalillo County regulations to other regional regulations to assist engineers, guide developers and property owners through the Bernalillo County development process. The guide, entitled Comparison of Regional Regulations (CORR), directs the public to the various design manuals, specifications, checklists, and instruction sheets used by the Bernalillo County Public Works Division.
It is a guide that is intended to be a companion document to the City of Albuquerque Development Process Manual (DPM) which is commonly used within the City of Albuquerque and other jurisdictions.
“Detailing the differences between the DPM and Bernalillo County’s rules and regulations better serves our customers, the public,” says Jarvis Middleton, Public Works Division deputy county manager. “What was a herculean effort in the past is now much more manageable.”
The CORR identifies specific areas where the county’s development regulations differ from that of the city. CORR lays out, chapter by chapter, exactly where and how the regulations are different within Bernalillo County.
This guide will assist developers and engineers who have never developed within Bernalillo County and will provide the guidelines of standards and codes that they will need to follow.
