This Saturday, South Valley Gateway Park is the place to begin making healthy choices for a healthier life.
District 2 Commissioner Art De La Cruz invites everyone to the Gateway to Health Free Health Fair, Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bridge and Isleta SW.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for residents to get free flu shots, have their blood pressure checked, check their glucose levels, all done by medical professionals who can help them to start on the road to a healthier life,” says District 2 Commissioner Art De La Cruz.
“I especially want to see children begin to understand how important it is to be strong and healthy and that they can learn how to make good health decisions too.”
The health fair offers a wide range of health-related activities for all age groups.
• Participants can receive free flu shots, health screenings, blood pressure checkups, glucose tests, and body composition measurements.
• There will be experts available to answer questions concerning the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare.
• Plus healthy snacks, kids’ karate and zumba demonstrations, kids’ yoga, a wellness walk and three bicycles and helmets will be given away in a free raffle!
Bernalillo County is partnering with several groups to put on this health fair for the community, including First Choice Community Healthcare, Health Action New Mexico, New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty, UNM Hospitals and Walgreens.
