Commissioner Debbie O’Malley invites the community to celebrate the Spirit of the North Valley – Fiesta de Alameda celebration this Saturday at Raymond G. Sanchez Community Center. This free community event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features seven food trucks, a growers market, a car show, free games for kids and live music by local bands Red Wine and Paul Pino. The event also features a chilé cookoff and a pastelito, or dessert, contest.
The Spirit of the North Valley – Fiesta de Alameda celebration is the first of many county events taking place during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, which attracts visitors from all over the world.
“I’m proud that this special community celebration in the North Valley is leading Bernalillo County’s new fall event lineup,” Commission Vice Chair Debbie O’Malley says. “There’s plenty to do in Bernalillo County after the balloons have landed, from fiestas to farm festivals and the Taste of New Mexico.”
Raymond G. Sanchez Community Center is located at 9800 4th Street N.W., north of Alameda Boulevard.
Families are welcome at this event, which will feature free games and arts and crafts activities for children.
