Bernalillo County Commissioners voted to continue offering free accommodations to seniors and veterans using the Bernalillo County fitness and aquatic centers.
Looking good for your Valentine just got a whole lot cheaper! Senior citizens, ages 55 and older, and veterans won’t have to front any green bills to get rosy cheeks at the Bernalillo County Fitness and Aquatic Centers. On Tuesday, Feb. 8, the Bernalillo County Commission passed an administrative resolution to once again help seniors and veterans access fitness and aquatic centers, free of charge.
Many veterans and seniors live on fixed incomes. This incentive will allow veterans of all ages and the seniors of our community to maintain a healthy pocketbook and a healthy lifestyle. Bernalillo County leaders know that veterans and the seniors have made tremendous contributions to our community and the county is honored to be able to assist them with this resolution.
Seniors and veterans may now continue to access the Bernalillo County-run fitness centers at Rio Grande, Westside, Los Padillas, and Raymond G Sanchez community centers, as well as our aquatic centers: The Paradise Hills, Los Padillas, Rio Grande, and the South Valley Pools without being charged the Bernalillo County fitness and recreation fee.
