It’s probably safe to say that most people in Bernalillo County Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins’ district don’t think of themselves as county residents. The area includes Nob Hill, Sandia Labs, ABQ Uptown, the International District and UNM. But, like everyone who lives in Albuquerque, Southeast Heights residents also live in the county and continually benefit from lots of great county services such as Open Spaces with bike and hiking trails and free substance abuse treatment at the Metropolitan Assessment and Treatment Services (MATS) on Zuni SE.
To learn more about what the county provides to residents, Commissioner Stebbins will host a free “Get to Know Bernalillo County” event called Hand-in-Hand on Saturday at the Albuquerque Public Schools Administrative Offices from 10 a.m. to noon. Dozens of county officials and staff will be “on hand” to answer residents’ questions regarding public safety, voting, property taxes, MDC, MATS, and much more.
“I hope everyone can come to this event,” Commissioner Stebbins says. “You’d be surprised to know how much Bernalillo County really does to help our community.”
APS Administrative Offices are located at 6400 Uptown Blvd., just southwest of Louisiana and Menaul, near Coronado Mall.
